Being from Toronto, I had my qualms about having sushi in a small town…but I can now say I was completely wrong to think this way. Akima House is a fantastic restaurant, with real integrity and dedication to quality. Everything I ordered was delicious, authentic, and well made! The Japanese dishes were very well done. The miso soup was perfect, and the salad was beautifully presented with a fresh, homemade dressing made from real grated carrots and rice vinegar. The sushi was well made, with soft, well-seasoned rice. The tempura was light, crisp, and not greasy at all. And for the pho: as a Vietnamese person, I can confidently say - it’s really wonderful!! The pho was authentic, well-flavoured, and came with all the proper fixings (herbs, chilis, bean sprouts, etc). Akima house is a wonderful restaurant, run by people with fantastic taste. I will definitely be back!
Went for the first time and it was amazing food! Highly recommend and check out this platter! They also have pool tables.
Akima House is the best Japanese Korean restaurant in Bruce County, hands down. They would compete with restaurants in most major cities for quality. Service is excellent, Miia is always friendly and accommodating of large groups. So many of my current and former colleagues enjoy going here and speak highly of the food. I have life threatening allergies and they are able to accommodate. California rolls contain imitation crab (fish paste). Photos of various meals that my partner, friends and I have enjoyed since coming here in 2020.
Went for my birthday. Living in the area for 5 years and never realized Akima house was this close and this good. Great service and amazing food. Sashimi were thick slices, everything was super flavourful. Definitely will be returning.
If you are looking for sushi in the Grey/Bruce area this is absolutely the number one spot! I’ve eaten here many times for both lunch and dinner and every single time it is a beautiful atmosphere, incredible service and absolutely delicious food! My family and I all agree that this is our go to for special occasions! This place just goes over the top with not only the previously mentioned but the way they create your dinner into artwork and back it up with flavour and quality! I know I’ve mentioned it earlier but the staff are incredible… Just had to say it multiple times! I don’t give five stars out lightly and I have been to some pretty notable restaurants but with regards to sushi in this area, it is number one! We will definitely be back… again and again! Thanks again!! Zeke

The food here is always top notch! My go to is the Bibimbap, it comes out so hot and I end up finishing the whole bowl. The service is always good, and all of their dishes are fantastic. Definitely recommend!
Unexpected gem. Mixed maki roll order with spicy salmon was great. Quality was even better than usual city places and the price was super reasonable. Noting this on my places to visit again.
